Club volleyball is for players committed to competing against other local, regional, and national volleyball teams within several leagues. Club volleyball is a dynamic sport where players develop fundamental and position specific skills. The regular season is six and a half months beginning mid-October through the end of April/beginning of May. If a player receives and accepts an offer to compete with an AAU team that would extend the season through June.
Successful teams compete an additional two months from May through to July in additional regional and national competitions.
Pre-tryout clinics are available throughout the summer and season tryouts are held any time after the completion of the prior season’s final Girls’ USAV Junior National Championships (Indoor), which usually falls within the first 3 weeks of July. During tryouts, Ace coaches carefully consider factors such as age, agility, aptitude, and position-specific skills when selecting players for each team, ensuring that teams are well balanced. At the end of each tryout session, formal offers will be extended to players, and parents will be asked to sign our Parent/Player agreement to secure their spot on the team. Additionally, offers will be extended to players who were assessed prior to tryouts. If your player does not receive a formal offer immediately, they will still receive a tryout result email by 9:00 AM the following day.
Club players must commit to attend three practices a week between mid-October to April and to participate in five to seven tournaments between January and May. This commitment is required so teams can properly build individual skills and team cohesion to compete at their highest level.
During practices, Ace incorporates two programs to promote the long-term health and performance of our athletes.
Mental Skills Training (MST): helps players cultivate mental preparedness, positive self-talk, team communication, and team cohesion.
Sports Performance Training (SPT): emphasizes development of strength and motor skills to enhance physical well-being and prevent injuries.
All Ace teams practice 3 days a week (2 week nights and Sundays). Official practice schedules and times are released to the teams once teams have been chosen and confirmed.
